Lee James Pantas, originally from Greenwich, Connecticut, has lived in the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina  since 1989. He has a Master's degree in Ecology from the University of Vermont, and has worked as a research scientist, military officer, lecturer, parapsychologist, marketing director, real estate agent, painter, illustrator and author in Vermont, Georgia, the orient, Brazil, Colorado, Connecticut and North Carolina.

He is active in youth athletics and coaches track & field for A.C. Reynolds High School, Asheville NC, and the Asheville Lightning Junior Olympics Team. Mr. Pantas also has created a highly successful speed development program, Soccer Speed, to help local soccer players learn to run faster. The website for this program is www.soccerspeed.org

Mr. Pantas is currently working on an art and environmental defense project entitled "Liza's Reef", which includes the completion of a series of paintings of an imaginary coral reef in the South Pacific. • Mr. Pantas is one of the few artists with permission to market reproductions of his original Biltmore Estate drawings.
